Organisations already have guidance. The hard work is keeping it coherent and authoritative, then making it useful when somebody needs it. Hot Source supports the people maintaining the library and the people trying to use it.
We get excited about policies and procedures.
Policies, procedures and guidelines sound boring, right up until you need the right information, right here, right now, for a decision that counts. Best practice exists, but that's not the same as it reliably reaching every patient, in every encounter. The figures below show the scale of the challenge: the delivery of appropriate care varies widely, and failures of process and communication remain among the most serious events in health care.
